Happening for the first time, WkndFest Vol. 1: K-Pop Edition will see some of the hottest Korean pop stars like iKON, Momoland, Mamamoo, (G)I-dle, Tiffany Young and VAV at the inaugural Wkndfest which will take place at Axiata Arena, Bukit Jalil from 6pm till midnight on 30 August 2019, Friday. Tickets are officially available for purchase at Myticket.Asia.
This first of its kind experience, will give Malaysian fans a full evening experience of non-stop K-Pop chart-toppers with hits such as I Just Wanna Dance, Born Again and Lips on Lips from the Korean sweetheart, Tiffany Young.
Vol. 1: K-Pop Edition of WkndFest hopes the inaugural edition of the concept will be the first of many exciting music experiences lined up for the Malaysian music scene.
“The concept behind Vol. 1: K-Pop Edition was formed based on the growing interest and fan base in Malaysia and to offer fans a once-in-a-lifetime experience with sought-after KPOP acts. We hope that this will be the first of a series of shows we develop, as we want to reintroduce the excitement of experiencing live music festivals here in Malaysia and hopefully, regionally,” said Amirul Hafiz, Executive Director of WkndFest
The other name confirmed to join this star-studded lineup is 7-member boyband, VAV who, since their 2015 debut, have amassed hits such as Thrilla Killa, Senorita, I’m Sorry, and She’s Mine. The group enchanted Malaysia in 2017, with their appearance at WkndFest being their second visit.
In conjunction with his second visit to Kuala Lumpur, VAV’s lead singer St.Van shared his excitement of being able to perform for their Malaysian fans with his bandmates – “It’s a very exciting time for us as a group to be able to tour and perform at WkndFest. We’re looking forward to hearing the local Senorita’s sing along to our songs and we hope to give them the show of a lifetime!”
Wkndfest Vol. 1: K-Pop Edition takes place on the 30th August 2019, Friday at Axiata Arena, Bukit Jalil. Doors open at 5pm.
