It’s the time of the year again. The time when ravers across South East Asia came together and partied all night for TWO consecutive days! Happening on 11 and 12 December, Djakarta Warehouse Project (DWP) took place at JIExpo (Jakarta International Expo) this year and is in fact the one event that has the sickest line-up of the year in SEA.
Presented by Ismaya Live, DWP 2015 has attracted over 75,000 people around the world to the two-day event and it is definitely a not-to-miss event for ravers. The gate opened at 4PM and ended at 4AM. A 12-hour party in a day is definitely nothing but the best!
Jakarta is also well-known for parties as Indonesians really know how to party well, party hard and are indeed one of the greatest people to party with.
Apart from the significant Garudha Land, there were 4 different stages and 2 were newly added this year which are Mad Decent stage and The Dark Side stage.
Garudha Land is the main stage where most of the crowd was flooded at. The stage was decorated with a huge head-moving-bird-like creature to symbolise Garudha. The state-of-the-art lightings, lasers and special effects that synced perfectly with the music and it went crazily beautiful when every beat was released. It was a synchronisation between your visions and hearing. So calm, yet so high!
Day 1
Garudha Land: w.W | Devarra | R3hab | Oliver Heldens | Jack Ü | Axwell^Ingrosso | Armin van Buuren
Mad Decent stage: Tiara Eve | Justin Oh | Dipha Barus | Cashmere Cat | What So Not | Major Lazer
The Darkside stage: Mikey Moran | Kronutz | Apsara | Philip George | Claptone | Jamie Jones | Claude VonStroke
With a lot of people carrying their homeland flags from all over the globe, Jalur Gemilang was one of the flags frequently spotted.
It was even a surprise when Penang and Sarawak flags were also waving across the crowd. This is the moment when unity and peace has been projected in a rave scene.
Apart from the epic moments at Garudha Land, Mad Decent stage is exactly why this stage name has been labelled. Major Lazer was one of the highlights when Diplo was out to bring the crowd to the point where the energy stayed at its peak even though it was already 3AM and no one has stopped to party regardless of tiredness after 11 hours of hardcore raving!
It was sad that Dillion Francis did not made it to the event but all these DJs had definitely made it up and made Day 1 a memorable day for the crowd.
Day 2
Garudha Land: Justeen| Shaan | Hizkia | Bionixxx | Galantis | DJ Snake | Kaskade | Tiesto
Neon Jungle: Aay | Joyo | Jevin Julian | Sliqq | Bottle Smooker | W.W | Generik | Porter Robinson | Head Hunterz
Cosmic Station: Osvaldo Nugroho | March Mayhem | Dree | Atila Syah | Gabriel & Dresden | Sied van Riel | LTN
Ravers are one of the most creative people as they always come to festivals with costumes and accessories. We have spotted a raver coming from Japan (as she is carrying Japan flag) dressed herself up in an Indian Saree and blinking accessories. There were also ravers in Red Indian headwear which was pretty “classy” for a festival.
Although the event had to come to the end, those happy moments and fun would not be forgotten. The memorable experience during DWP 2015 has definitely satisfied what ravers has been seeking for throughout the year. We are uncertain of what DWP 2016 is going to be, but what DWP 2015 has brought on this year has certainly made it the BEST festival of the year. What an awesome event to end 2015!
